Drawn Antigua Test
Another overseas chance to win gone abegging. Guess even though this test was a great one for cricket lovers, from Indian point of view, I should say it is definitely a disappointing one.
Agreed it was a young inexperienced attack which shouldered the responsibility, yet, in international cricket like in any fields, you are expected to perform at your level best using your intelligence and making the best out of the conditions presented to you. In that respect I would think we did not do our job well all the time.
I am not taking any credit away from the Windies, they performed superbly, and saved the test which should be a huge boost for their confidence. Yet after getting the first 3 wickets we let the pressure go away easily. Similarly again we repeated the same thing post tea when it looked like another boring match things changed and we pulled off a surprise by plucking the next 4 wickets pretty quicky only to be frustrated by Bradshaw and Dave Mohammed (great innings boss!!!).
We have always had issues with our bowlers unable to clean up the tail when the top order flounders whether we had a experienced or inexperienced team.
Also at times Rahul shuffling of the attack left quite a bit to be desired, sure he can be very very satisfied with the result, I for one would not agree with him, When you have people who could bowl (even occasional freaky types like) Laxman, Kaif etc. why not try them out.
Repeatedly Indian captains follow a set pattern and do not rotate their attack very well, come on guys, if you don't look like you are getting a wicket for 10-15 overs, shuffle the bowlers, switch ends, spring the odd surprise. This was one chane when you could have tried those things out. ALAS it did not happen and we continue to wait for that victory......
God Bless Us All

Reservation
Instead of Reserving seats for the sections of populations a few politicians think about. Why not provide free education for population with special grants from government as well as contributions from private sector.
Govt. could give some tax breaks or other perks to the private sector to support this initiative. This way everyone could be encouraged to get educated and the individuals will have an opportunity to strut their stuff in a competitive world.
Education is a prime thing for any individual in the long haul. I read in one of the interviews given by Dr P M Bhargava, Member, Knowledge Commission in rediff http://ia.rediff.com/news/2006/may/23inter1.htm?q=np&file=.htm where he mentions that Government gets almost Rs. 6000 crores from the educational cess it imposes on tax paying sections of the populations.
This clearly shows there is no dearth of money to start the initiative, this way we could probably open more educational institutions and also generate jobs as well.
Anybody Listening out there?

Reality Check
Finally our guys are being tested outside the sub-continent. Even though the current West Indian team is no match to the teams of yore, yet any team worth its salt in their backyard is going to be a little tough.
We will get to see the real value of Pathan, Dhoni, Raina et all. very soon.
For the future sake I hope they sincerely perform well and not get carried away with past laurels.
Another opportunity lurking for future prospects is the announcement that Sachin will not be available for the WI tour.
Here is your opportunity guys, go for it and grab it successfully.
